Description
Shankha (conch), one of the symbols of Lord Vishnu, is considered pure among Hindus. It’s sound is said to embody the Vedas and it is blown at the beginning and end of all ceremonies to invite auspiciousness.
This fully formed Sankha is a fine piece. It is fitted with a superbly crafted metal top that makes it surprisingly easy to blow. It tapers in an ornately carved brass Makara (mythical being) with a floral pattern. It rests on a brass stand.
