Description
Large floral wood carving by wood carvers of Tamil Nadu of Krishna as Venugopala. This is a 6 feet tall wood carving of Krishna Venugopala carved out of single block of wood.
The wood carving is very intricately carved and detailed. It is on the lines of floral and flowing designs as seen in Carnatic wood art. Every inch of this fantastic wood sculpture of Venugopala is carved with utmost care and the carving is as clean as found in stone carvings of temples in Halebidu and Belur.
This is a wood carving of four-armed Venugopala form of Krishna in which he is seen poised playing flute in his lower hands. His upper hands hold shankha (conch) and chakra (disc), the attributes of Lord Vishnu whose eight incarnation Krishna was. The figure of Krishna is carved with detailed jewellery and a beautiful garland around his neck and shown wearing a tall, rich crown.
The wood carved sculpture stands against a backdrop of a tree well carved with details such as leaves, branches, flowers etc. This wood carving would fill up and compliment large walls or corners. It is also perfectly suited for hotel reception areas or large halls. This wood carving is currently raw but can be polished or coloured as specified by the buyer.
