Lovely wood carving of Krishna as a cowherd. Krishna is shown standing relaxed against a cow.He stands cross-legged holding a stick in one hand and the other rests on his thigh. The cow lovingly licks his raised foot.
This wood carving depicts a scene from the childhood of Krishna in Vrindavan where he resided during the early years of his life as a cowherd. Krishna is the eighth incarnation of Vishnu and descended with all the might of Vishnu - the supreme person or Bhagvan (god).
Carved in good detail this wood carving is an excellent example of skilful artwork of South Indian wood carvers. This piece is handcrafted in single piece of wood. It may serve as a decorative wall hanging.
