This is a superbly carved hanging lamp shade. The intricate traditional carving is extremely fine and delicate.
The lamp is open from top for easy installation of an electric bulb. When lit, the bulb inside is not visible but the warm diffused yellow glow is. That looks ethereal.
The piece is even worth collecting.
