Description
An excellent bronze sculpture of Ganesha dancing gleefully as Nritya Ganapati. Nritta Ganesha is one of the thirty-two forms of Lord Ganesha. It is the dancing form of Ganesha.
In this this four-armed sculpture Ganesha holds ankusha (goad) in his upper right hand and paasha (noose) in upper left. He holds the paasha upside down, probably indicating Ganesha’s joyous abandon while dancing. He holds his own broken tusk in his lower right hand and carries a Modaka (Indian sweet) – of which he is very fond – in his lower left.
Ganesha is endowed with long, huge belly and small legs. It is believed that his belly contains all the eggs of untold Universes. His right leg is raised as a dance step and weight is on the right toe. Ganesha’s mount, the mouse sits at his feet looking at his lord with reverence and awe.
This is a beautiful statue fit to install at house entrance, temple or any visually accessible spot and it is sure to bring beauty, joy and festivity. Sculpture rests on a lotus and square pedestal.
Special Comments
The mentioned weight is approximate as this is a large statue involving much artistic effort and artists didn't weigh the statue after creation. However the weight is estimated in relation to the size of the sculpture by their creator artists who are very experienced so the mentioned weight is close to actual. This statue is of significant size so it is created hollow. It already weighs much and if it were created solid that would have not only increased the weight of the sculpture unnecessarily but it also would be much cumbersome to move the sculpture.
