Copper Figurine Of Lakshmi Narasimha Seated On Garuda

Awesome copper idol of Lakshmi and Narasimha mounted on Garuda. Lakshmi Narasimha are popular deities worshipped by Vaishnavas. When Narasimha ’s anger cooled off after his devotee Prahlad ’s prayers he became approachable to all and his consort Lakshmi ( Lakshmi is associated with Narasimha since Narasimha is an incarnation of Vishnu, husband of Lakshmi) came to him and sat on his left lap. They both blessed Prahlada.

Narasimha is the man-lion incarnation of Vishnu when he descended to protect his devotee Prahlad from his evil father Hiranyakashipu in a form that had face of a lion and body of a man. The divine couple is depicted in South Indian art, seated either on a lotus pedestal or on Garuda, who is Vishnu ’s mount.

This is one such beautiful figurine of Lakshmi Narasimha carried by Garuda in solid copper. Narasimha is seen four-armed in the copper figurine, holding chakra (disc) and shankha (conch) in his upper hands. He is blessing Prahlada with one of his lower hands and embracing Lakshmi with other. Lakshmi is seated gracefully on his lap and they are mounted on Garuda.
