Garuda Stone Statue

This stone statue of Garuda was carved by a master artisan. Here Garuda is shown kneeling with his hands joined in supplication. His wings are upraised indicating that he is ready when Vishnu is. <br> <br>Such statues of Garuda are almost invariably seen in Vishnu temples either outside the Garbha Gruha (sanctum sanctorum) facing Vishnu or on top of Garuda Stambha (a pillar outside a Vishnu temple that serves as Garuda's seat)
