Gopala Krishna South Indian Wood Carving

Small woodcarving of Gopala Krishna ideal to hang on walls. Lovely wood carving of Krishna as a cowherd. Krishna is shown standing relaxed against a cow. He stands cross-legged holding a stick in one hand and the other rests on his thigh. The cow lovingly licks his raised foot. <br> <br>This wood carving depicts a scene from the childhood of Krishna in Vrindavan where he resided during the early years of his life as a cowherd. Krishna is the eighth incarnation of Vishnu and descended with all the might of Vishnu - the supreme person or <em>Bhagvan</em> (god). <br> <br>Carved in good detail this wood carving is an excellent example of skilful artwork of South Indian wood carvers.
