Krishna Guruvayurappan Bronze Statue

A beautiful statue of Sri Vishnu, the presiding deity at the famous temple of Guruvayur in Kerela, South India. The statue is actually of Lord Krishna, appearing four-armed since he was an incarnation of Vishnu. The town Guruvayur is known as Dwarka of the South due to this temple of Sri Krishna. He is lovingly called Guruvayurappan which means "Father at Guruvayur".

Krishna is seen here as a baby boy and though the statue is four-armed, it is still supposed to be that of a child, chubby and cute. Krishna carries Sudarshan Chakra (discus), Panchajanya (conch), in his upper two arms, Kaumodaki (mace), and a lotus in his two lower arms. The lotus stalk extends from between his fingers to his toe. He wears peacock feathers on the top of his crown and a Kaustubha gem on his chest. He is bedecked in beautiful jewels as is customary of him. Statue stands on a round lotus pedestal.
