Lakshmi approached her pacified lord and sat on his lap. Lakshmi Narasimha then blessed Prahlada. Vishnu assumed the form of Narasimha to slay demon king Hiranyakashipu when he attempted to kill his son Prahlada, a devotee of Vishnu. <br> <br>Narasimha is holding Chakra (disc) and Shankha (conch) in his two upper hands. One of his lower hands is raised in abhaya (granting fearlessness) pose and the other is around Lakshmi ’s waist. Lakshmi is seen holding a lotus bud in one hand and the other is encircled around Narasimha. This is a popular theme in South Indian sculpture art.
