Description
Padmavati Devi, also known as Alamelu Manga, is a revered Hindu goddess and the consort of Venkateshwara, a form of Vishnu. Revered as an avatar of goddess Lakshmi, she is the daughter of a local king. The primary shrine dedicated to Padmavati is the Padmavati Ammavari Temple in Tiruchanur, near Tirupati.
This vintage print is a visual delight, showcasing the divine grace of Padmavati Devi adorned in a resplendent red saree—a unique portrayal curated by the artist. Depicted with four arms, she gracefully holds lotus flowers in her back hands, while the front hands are in Abhaya mudra and Varada mudra. The intricacies extend to a captivating prabhavali, where the top features the face of a Yali, adding an extra layer of artistic charm.
This is a vintage design which is very hard to find these days. TTD used to sell prints of this design years ago but such prints are no longer available in the same quality. Cottage9 has revived availability of these prints.
