Small wood carved wall-art of Radha and Krishna. An excellent wood carving of the eternal lovers, Radha and Krishna. They are shown in a warm embrace. Radha was the chief gopi (cowherd woman) who had transcendental love for Krishna. The love of Radha-Krishna has been a theme of art since ages in India. Unlike mortal love, the affection of Radha-Krishna has great spiritual significance. Radha is conceived of as the potency of Krishna , the absolute Brahman, to enjoy. Krishna is therefore treated non-different from Radha.

Brahmavaivarta Purana, one of the eighteen chief Puranas (Hindu scriptures) extols in detail the transcendence of this eternal relation. This beautiful wood carving may serve as an ideal wall hanging or may even be placed around as a decorative piece of wood art. The wood carving is in traditional South Indian style.
