Description
Presenting a remarkable South Indian Bronze Idol featuring Vishnu as Trivikrama Ulagalanda Perumal, expertly crafted from the finest quality bronze. This stunning statue beautifully captures the essence of Vishnu in his Trivikrama form, depicting the iconic Vamana Avatar moment.
Intricately detailed, the sculpture showcases miniature figurines of Raja Bali granting three steps of land to the dwarf Vamana holding an umbrella, and next to it is Vishnu – into who Vamana transforms – standing gracefully while his left foot rises towards the heavens to measure the entire material universe. Raja Bali, a symbol of humility and devotion, is depicted prostrating at the feet of Lord Vishnu.
The idol shows the magnificent Trivikrama-Vishnu with eight arms. He has started to measure the worlds with his strides and his arms are outstretched carrying divine weapons, as if warning the entire creation to stay put and not come in his way. His lowest right hand is raised holding Sudarshana Chakra, the dreadful weapon of Vishnu. Clockwise upward, he holds a mace, sword and pulls out an arrow from his right quiver with one hand.
His top left hand has already pulled out an arrow from his left quiver. Another hand is outstretched with his index finger raised to count his first stride. In the other two hands he holds a bow and a shield. This exquisite statue exudes intricate details, from fine facial features to the elaborate ornaments and attire. Vishnu’s leg on ground is straight, while the raised leg adds artistic depth to the portrayal.
This South Indian Bronze Idol is not just a masterpiece of craftsmanship but a profound symbol of devotion and spirituality. It invites you to delve into the rich tapestry of Hindu mythology and culture, making it a cherished addition to any discerning collector’s repertoire.
