South Indian Ganesha Wood Carving

A traditional South Indian wood carving of Lord Ganesha. This wood art is hand carved out of a single block of wood and there are no joints in the carving. The wood carving is of four-armed Ganesha seated on a lotus pedestal. His mount mouse is see near the base. <br> <br>Ganesha holds <em>ankush</em> (goad) and <em>pasha</em> (noose) in his upper two hands. In his lower hands he holds a piece of his own broken tusk and <em>modak</em> (a type of sweet). He is bedecked with rich jewellery and crown.
