Description
A traditional South Indian wood carving of Lord Ganesha. This wood art is hand carved out of a single block of wood and there are no joints in the carving. The wood carving is of four-armed Ganesha seated on a lotus pedestal. His mount mouse is see near the base.
Ganesha holds ankush (goad) and pasha (noose) in his upper two hands. In his lower hands he holds a piece of his own broken tusk and modak (a type of sweet). He is bedecked with rich jewellery and crown. Read more about Ganesha here.
The wooden figure of Ganesha is framed in a backdrop of an intricate floral carving. The wood art is polished in soft, dark brown hue.
