Description
This is a marvellous small copper statue of Goddess Rajarajeshwari, also known as Lalita Tripurasundari.
Rajarajeshwari is the personification of the feminine aspect of the Supreme. She is the great mother Goddess of the three worlds and excels everything that is seen or unseen within the sum total manifestation. She resides in a realm called Shripur and is the support and substratum of all deities.
She is seen in this copper statue in perfect iconography. Sitting in padmasana, she is four-armed and bedecked in exquisite, rich jewellery. She wears a crown adorned with a crescent moon.
She hold ankusha (goad) and paasha (noose) in her two upper hands, which represent her absolute power to impel and tie beings of all the realms of all the universes. She hold lotus bud and sugarcane in her lower two hands which are representative of beauty and desire respectively. Rajarajeshwari is the compassionate mother of all beings.
