Vishnu is lovingly called Perumal in Tamil.
This handsome statue is one of its kind when it comes to beauty and craftsmanship
Perumal wears a tall crown. A Vaishnava mark on his forehead which covers his eyes partially and extends on his nose slightly. He smiles sweetly with his eyes are closed in a blissful trance. Makara Kundal (crocodile shaped earrings) adorn his ears.
He bears Chakra (discus) and Shankha (conch) in his two upper hands. One of the other two hands is raised in Abhaya Mudra (assurance/protection) and the other is in Katyavalambita Mudra (palm perpendicular to the ground and hand resting on thigh)
Usual jewellery adorn his strong, well formed body.
