Description
Exquisite wood carving of goddess Saraswati seated on lotus with swan by her side. Skilfully carved, beautiful wooden statue of Goddess Saraswati for any decor. This is quite an intricate carving in walnut wood. The statue is created in South Indian style by artisans of Tamil Nadu.
Saraswati is the goddess of knowledge and all fine arts such as music, acting, painting and carving. She is the consort of Brahma, the creator of the universe. She is seen four-armed in this wood sculpture. She holds japamala (rosary) and veda (knowledge) in her hind hands and supports a veena (lute) in her front arms.
She is seated in sukhasana (relaxed pose) on a lotus pedestal with her mount hamsa (white swan) at her feet. This wood carving is well suited as a decorative item or an auspicious installation in home temple or library.
